Urawa manager Skorza: Avispa is a very tough opponent

Urawa Reds manager Maciej Skorza knows a thing or two about winning finals, including in the AFC Champions League earlier this season, but he insists his side won't have it easy in Saturday's J.League YBC Levain Cup decider against Avispa Fukuoka.

The match kicks off at 13:05 JST, with the majority of fans around the globe able to watch live on the J.League International YouTube Channel.

"We would like to control this game from the first minute but we know that Avispa is a very tough opponent," Skorza said.

"They are a very well-organized team, and it will be very, very difficult."

Skorza highlighted Fukuoka's adept counter-attack as something his squad will need to watch out for.

"It’s really not easy to control the game when you’re playing against them."

The Reds' boss has already captured silverware this season, bringing the AFC Champions League back to Saitama for a third time, while Saturday's final at the Japan National Stadium represents a chance to win a first J.League Cup since 2016.

"It will be quite an interesting challenge tomorrow."
