The J.LEAGUE is pleased to announce that the charity match between Avispa Fukuoka and FC Shakhtar Donetsk, a regular participant in the UEFA Champions League and 14-time winner of the Ukrainian Premier League, will be streamed live worldwide on the J.LEAGUE International YouTube channel.
The match will take place on Monday, December 18th at 18:45 JST and can be seen at this link.
The purpose of this charity match is to send a message of support to Ukraine through football all over the world, and to donate all profits from the match, minus expenses, to Ukraine’s reconstruction assistance. In addition to that financial support, Ukrainian evacuees in Japan will be invited to attend the match.
Shakhtar is a football club based in Donetsk, Ukraine, which currently operates out of Warsaw, Poland as a temporary base. In addition to winning their 14th national title in the 2022-23 campaign, they also recently defeated FC Barcelona in the group stage of the 2023-24 Champions League.
Now, they head to Tokyo to take on 2023 J.League YBC Levain Cup champions Avispa Fukuoka at the National Stadium, with all the action streamed live in English for the world to watch.
