Nagoya Grampus’s terrific start to 2023 takes them north this weekend when they visit a struggling Kawasaki Frontale side in a match set for Saturday at 3 pm JST that will be streamed live on the J.League International YouTube channel.
Nagoya have leaned upon their typically excellent defense to kick off the campaign, conceding just two goals in their first seven matches. It has propelled them to second in the table, a mere two points back of the top, and has them squarely in the heart of the title race.
Grampus have been a surprise team, going from eighth place a year ago all the way up to second now, and the same is true of Frontale, although they’ve moved in the other direction. The club that has won four of the last six Meiji Yasuda J1 League titles and finished second a year ago currently find themselves in 13th place and have only one win in their last five.
The J.League announced that up to four matches will be streamed live each week for the 2023 season, bringing one of Asia’s top league’s to fans around the world. The streams will be free to view on the J.League International YouTube channel in any country that does not have an existing rights agreement.
