Urawa Reds are in good form with two wins from their last two and they aim to keep that going when they meet Kyoto Sanga on Wednesday at 19:30 JST in a match that will be shown live on JLeague.co and broadcasters around the world.
The Urawa attack has been marvelous of late, with Thiago Santana leading the way. The new signing has scored six goals in the last nine matches to pace the Reds, who are third in J1 with 21 goals through 13 matches.
Urawa are up to sixth in the table and a mere six points off the top so their dreams of competing for the title are well within reach. Some continued good form will have them in the thick of the fight for Japanese football’s most coveted trophy.
Sanga find themselves in a very different position, with only one win since March 9. They’ve scored the fewest goals in the league and it’s why they find themselves in the drop zone. It’s imperative that they start earning some points and give themselves a chance to spend another season in the top flight.
Will Sanga pull the upset and potentially climb out of the bottom three? Or will the Reds march ever closer to the top of the table?
Find out on Wednesday, live around the world.
