There were big results at both ends of the 2025 MEIJI YASUDA J1 LEAGUE table on Saturday, as Kashiwa Reysol moved back into second place with a 5-0 win away at Gamba Osaka, Yokohama F・Marinos swept past Urawa Reds 4-0 to strengthen their push for survival, and Albirex Niigata’s fate was all but decided by a 1-0 loss against Tokyo Verdy.
Yoshio Koizumi swept Kashiwa in front after seven minutes at Panasonic Stadium Suita, before Nobuteru Nakagawa made it 2-0 eight minutes later and Diego added a third in the 19th minute.
Diego slotted in his second of the game to make it 4-0 six minutes into the second period, and Mao Hosoya wrapped things up from the penalty spot in the 73rd minute, leaving Kashiwa just three points behind leaders Kashima Antlers.

Yokohama F・M were also amongst the goals as they moved two points clear of the relegation zone, earning a comprehensive win over Urawa thanks to a clinical first-half.
After Kaina Tanimura tapped in to put Yokohama F・M ahead in the sixth minute, Jeisson Quinones powered home a header from a corner 11 minutes before the break.
There was still time for two more goals, however, with Jordy Croux slotting home from the penalty spot in the 45th minute and Asahi Uenaka converting Kenta Inoue's low cross from the right in the fifth minute of first-half stoppage time to lift his side onto 34 points - two ahead of neighbours Yokohama FC, who could only draw 2-2 at home to Nagoya Grampus.
Solomon Sakuragawa’s header gave Yokohama FC the lead in the 20th minute at NHK Spring Mitsuzawa Football Stadium, but Sho Inagaki equalised from the penalty spot in the 71st minute and Yota Sato then put Nagoya ahead from close range with 10 minutes remaining.
Makito Ito was on hand to make sure of a point for Yokohama FC though, slamming home in the fourth minute of stoppage time to keep his side’s survival hopes alive.
Elsewhere, Niigata’s chances of avoiding the drop were essentially extinguished, with Hiroto Taniguchi stroking in the only goal of their game away to Tokyo-V in the 36th minute to leave Niigata 12 points from safety with four games to play.
In the day’s other games, Kawasaki Frontale beat Shimizu S-Pulse 5-3 - Yasuto Wakizaka, Asahi Sasaki, Tatsuya Ito, Erison, and So Kawahara all on target for Kawasaki-F, and Kazuki Kozuka, Toshiki Takahashi, and Koya Kitagawa striking back for Shimizu - Ryunosuke Sato’s superb individual effort wasn’t enough to prevent Fagiano Okayama going down 2-1 at home to Cerezo Osaka after a Lucao own goal and Rafael Ratao header, and the game between FC Machida Zelvia and Avispa Fukuoka ended 0-0.
