Yokohama FC lose friendly to V-League club

Yokohama FC fell 1-2 to V-League side SHB Da Nang on Wednesday in a club friendly.

The match in Vietnam took place as part of the Tam Hung Cup, a pre-season tournament which also featured Yokohama FC partners HAGL FC.

The MEIJI YASUDA J2 League side took the lead in the 32nd minute after an own goal, but the locals drew even through Horace James’ 39th-minute strike.

Da Nang’s game-winner came in the 66th minute when striker Gaston Merlo pounced on a loose ball following a free kick near the Yokohama penalty area.

The result guaranteed first place to the Vietnamese club, who have already defeated HAGL in an earlier match.

Yokohama FC will finish their camp with a match against HAGL on Saturday, January 30.
