The J.League on Sunday announced voting results for the 2016 J.League YBC Levain Cup New Hero Award following the conclusion of the group stage.

The New Hero award recognises players under 23 years of age who excel in the tournament and is chosen by members of the media as well as a selection committee which includes J.League chairman Mitsuru Murai.

Omiya Ardija defender Kohei Yamakoshi, Yokohama F. Marinos striker Cayman Togashi and Vissel Kobe midfielder Yuya Nakasawa received the most votes in the group stage.

All three players will resume their quest to receive the honour on August 31 when the Knockout Stage begins.
