Who's ready for the fight for the Fujifilm Super Cup 2023?

The founding of the J.League in 1993 brought us another new competition - the Fujifilm Super Cup, featuring the champions of the Japanese top flight and the defending Emperor’s Cup winners.

This year, that pits J1 League winners Yokohama F·Marinos against cup holders Ventforet Kofu in a tantalizing clash that will see both clubs vying for their very first Fujifilm Super Cup crown.

Marinos are regulars on this stage, having played in this kickoff event for the Japanese football season on five previous occasions, but they have yet to prevail.

This will be Ventforet’s first trip to the contest and they will be hoping to continue what has been a spectacular ride after the J2 club defeated five top flight teams to win the first trophy in club history and become the first second division side to win the Emperor’s Cup since 2011.

Will Marinos end their Fujifilm Super Cup curse or will Ventforet Kofu continue their giant slaying ways and add a second piece of silverware to their trophy case? We’ll find out on February 11 at 1:35 JST, and you can watch live from around the world on the J.League International YouTube Channel.
