Avispa Fukuoka on Tuesday announced the renewal of striker Wellington’s contract for 2016.
The Brazilian scored seven goals in 18 appearances for the MEIJI YASUDA J1 League promotion play-off winners this term.
“I feel blessed that we were able to earn promotion this season,” Wellington said. “Next season I want to continue to work hard on the J1 stage.”
The side celebrated their first return to the top-flight in five years last Sunday, when they earned promotion at the expense of Cerezo Osaka.
