Vissel try to protect top spot as Albi visit Kobe

Vissel Kobe are off to a terrific and surprising start to the season, jumping all the way up to the top of the table. Albirex Niigata have also been a surprise team, playing very well to open the campaign as a newly promoted club. Now, the Ushi and Albi are set to meet on Sunday at 2 pm JST in a match that will be streamed live on the J.League International YouTube channel.

Vissel are not just top of the table through six matches, they have been by far the best team in the league. Their plus-10 goal difference is four better than any other team in the league as they pair the second-best attack in J1 with the best defense.

Albi will be hoping to throw a wrench in the Vissel machine and potentially knock them off their perch atop the league, but it will take a return to form for the Niigata side. They were J1’s last unbeaten side after a remarkable start that had them right up near the top of the table, but a pair of losses in their last two games has been a bit of a return to earth for them.

The J.League announced that up to four matches will be streamed live each week for the 2023 season, bringing one of Asia’s top league’s to fans around the world. The streams will be free to view on the J.League International YouTube channel in any country that does not have an existing rights agreement.
