Vissel Kobe’s pursuit of the Meiji Yasuda J1 League title is as hot as ever and they’ll be hoping to make the leap to first place this weekend when they play Sagan Tosu on Sunday at 7 pm JST in a match that will be streamed live on the J.League International YouTube channel.
The Ushi have only lost one of their last 10, a terrific run that has kept them right in the middle of the title race. They enter the weekend a mere three points behind defending champions Yokohama F·Marinos and have a match in hand, setting the stage for an unforgettable title fight.
Yuya Osako continues to star for Vissel, sitting second in the entire league with 13 goals, while Yoshinori Muto may be the most influential player in J1 this season, notching eight goals and a league-leading nine assists.
It will be difficult for Sagan to wrestle a result from this weekend’s contest in Kobe, but they have results from seven of their last eight matches and nearly took a draw from Vissel in a hard-fought 1-0 clash earlier this season. If they can take a point, or even three, from Kobe, it will be a major statement from a Sagan team that still has time to make a run at an AFC Champions League place.
The J.League announced that up to four matches will be streamed live each week for the 2023 season, bringing one of Asia’s top league’s to fans around the world. The streams will be free to view on the J.League International YouTube channel in any country that does not have an existing rights agreement.
