Sagan Tosu on Thursday announced the arrival of midfielder Takeshi Aoki from Kashima Antlers on a full transfer.

The 33-year-old has spent his entire career at the Ibaraki outfit since making his professional debut in 2001, with eight goals in 375 J1 appearances to his name.

“When I was approached about this transfer I had to take a long, hard look in the mirror and consider a lot of things,” Aoki said. 

“I came to the conclusion that challenging myself in a new environment was the best choice. This will be a fresh start for me as a player and I hope I can contribute to Sagan Tosu and the local area.

“I am grateful to the club for offering me a new challenge and will use all of my strength to help finish the season on a high note.”
