Satoru Sakuma has vowed to continue keeping Ventforet Kofu in the top-flight, after the club on Saturday confirmed he would remain in charge for the 2016 season.
The 52-year-old, who took over in May following the dismissal of Yasuhiro Higuchi, led the Yamanashi Chuo Bank Stadium side to comfortable survival in 2015.
“I believe that the survival of a local club like Ventforet Kofu in the J1 League represents the ultimate expression of our existence,” Sakuma commented.
“I intend to ensure it continues.”
Ventforet also announced Sakuma will serve as the team’s general manager and managing director, as they aim to build on their overall 13th-placed finish this term.
