Vegalta renew contract with manager Watanabe

Vegalta Sendai manager Susumu Watanabe will continue to lead the team in 2017, the club announced on Saturday.

The 43-year-old led the team to 12th place in this year’s MEIJI YASUDA J1 League campaign - their best result since he took over in 2014.

“We are focused more than ever on bringing more victories and joy to our fans in 2017,” Watanabe commented.

“I hope that all of you will continue to inject your passion into the club.”
