Urawa Reds aim to close in on the top against Yokohama FC

Urawa Reds have used a five-match unbeaten streak to move within six points of the top of the Meiji Yasuda J1 League table and they aim to creep even closer with a win over Yokohama FC when the two side meet on Friday at 7:30 pm JST in a match that will be streamed live on the J.League International YouTube channel.

Urawa are coming off of a 3-1 win over Gamba Osaka, which was especially impressive after they went down to 10 men. The Reds defense continues to pace the league and has them on the fringe of the title race. If they can beat Yokohama, they will move even closer to the heart of the fight for the crown because the league’s top two teams are meeting this weekend, guaranteeing dropped points above the Reds.

Yokohama have just as much to play for, as they battle to spend another season in the top flight. The Fulie sit a mere one point in front of Shonan Bellmare in the fight to avoid relegation, making it crucial that they nab every result they possibly can and that includes this weekend in Saitama.

The J.League announced that up to four matches will be streamed live each week for the 2023 season, bringing one of Asia’s top league’s to fans around the world. The streams will be free to view on the J.League International YouTube channel in any country that does not have an existing rights agreement.
