Urawa, Kashiwa clash with big stakes on opposite ends of table

Urawa Reds and Kashiwa Reysol are on opposite ends of the Meiji Yasuda J1 League table, but they both have plenty to play for when they meet on Friday at 7:30 pm JST in a match that will be streamed live on the J.League International YouTube channel.

Urawa are third in the table and fighting for a place in the AFC Champions League. Their excellent defense has been the driving force in their strong season, but a good finish will require more offensive firepower, with José Kanté leading the way with a mere seven goals.

Reysol are down near the bottom of the table, sitting in 16th place, but they’ve been very good for months now. They have just one loss from their last eight matches, a run that has seen them climb from the bottom of the table and put six points between them and the relegation zone. A win over Urawa could put them on the verge of clinching another season in the top flight.

The J.League announced that up to four matches will be streamed live each week for the 2023 season, bringing one of Asia’s top league’s to fans around the world. The streams will be free to view on the J.League International YouTube channel in any country that does not have an existing rights agreement.
