FC Tokyo on Monday announced contract renewals with five players, including captain Masato Morishige, for the 2016 season.

Chiefly on the list is the centre-back, who scored seven goals in 32 appearances for the capital side in their 2015 MEIJI YASUDA J1 League campaign.

Midfielders Hiroki Kawano, Tasuku Hiraoka, Hideyuki Nozawa and defender Ryota Ogawa also renewed their deals with the club.

The capital club are aiming to retain the core of a squad that soared this season, only narrowly missing out on a place at the post-season J.League championship.
