Thai starlet Jakkit joins FC Tokyo as Burns switches to Sanfrecce

FC Tokyo this week announced the signing of three foreign players as they look to right themselves in the second half of the MEIJI YASUDA J1 League campaign.

As part of the club’s partnership with Bangkok United, midfielder Jakkit Wachipirom will arrive on a half-season loan. The 20-year-old has represented Thaialnd at the Under-19 and U-23 levels.

“I’m thankful for the chance to play for FC Tokyo, and I want to learn as much as I can from this experience,” Jakkit said.

Tokyo also announced the signings of defender Jang Hyun Soo, who played for the club in 2012 and 2013 before transferring to China’s Guangzhou R&F and Brazilian midfielder Lipe Veloso.

“I’m incredibly happy to re-join FC Tokyo and play for a great club in front of our great fans,” said Jang, a full international who has represented South Korea in FIFA World Cup qualifying as well as the 2016 Rio Olympics.

The club also confirmed the departure of striker Nathan Burns for Sanfrecce Hiroshima following the conclusion of his contract.
