Shimizu S-Pulse on Tuesday announced the team’s captain and vice-captains for the 2017 season.

Veteran Chong Tese will inherit the armband from former teammate Genki Omae, while midfielder Yosuke Kawai will join goalkeeper Yohei Nishibe and defender Tomoya Inukai as vice-captains.

“I want to become capable of helping the team through difficult situations on and off the pitch,” Tese commented. 

“We are moving in a good direction and all of us want to do our best to achieve good results this season.”
