Taketomi fires Reysol top

Kosuke Taketomi scored a brace as Kashiwa Reysol surged to the top of the MEIJI YASUDA J1 League table with a 4-2 win over Omiya Ardija.

The striker scored in a devastating five-minute spell during the second half as Reysol wiped out Ardija’s opener, with the visitors remaining rooted to the bottom of the table after the result.

Sanfrecce Hiroshima fared little better in a 0-0 home draw against Jubilo Iwata who had to do without Shunsuke Nakamura, but his former club Yokohama F. Marinos got back to winning ways in the league with a strong 3-1 win at Shimizu S-Pulse.

Erick Mombaerts’ men climbed up to ninth thanks to Hugo Vieira’s second-half brace that cancelled Ryohei Shirasaki’s equaliser, representing the Portuguese’s first goals since the start of April.

Finally, Sagan Tosu eked out a 1-0 win over Consadole Sapporo as the rest of the league prepare to get underway on Sunday.
