Takayuki Yoshida has had a lot to celebrate in November and December and now he has one more thing - Manager of the Month.

Vissel Kobe’s boss has been awarded top manager honors for the season’s close after leading the club to their first Meiji Yasuda J1 League title ever.

Vissel began November with a dramatic win over Urawa Reds. They allowed a stoppage time equalizer, which would have sunk many teams, but Yoshida’s men fought back and scored six minutes into added time to steal a late win that preserved their lead atop the table.

The next matchweek, Yoshida had his team come out firing and they took an early two-goal lead against Nagoya Grampus. They were able to make that lead hold up, clinching the title with the victory and setting off celebrations all over Kobe.

Yoshida started and ended the season with Manager of the Month honors, first winning the award for February and March before taking home the trophy for November and December.

Manager of the Month in J3 was awarded to Nobuhiro Ishizaki. He led Vanraure Hachinohe to three wins and a draw in five November and December matches, taking them from 13th in the table to seventh.

J2 Manager of the Month was previously given to Júbilo Iwata’s Akinobu Yokouchi.
