Striker Okada returns to Sagan

Former Shonan Bellmare loanee Shohei Okada was eager to thank the club’s fans after Sagan Tosu recalled him from his spell there on Monday.

The 26-year-old forward’s tally of 14 goals was instrumental to Bellmare’s 2014 MEIJI YASUDA J2 League-winning campaign and subsequent promotion.

“Thank you for your passionate support through good times and bad over the last year and a half,” Okada told Bellmare’s official website.

“I’m proud to have played for Shonan Bellmare since 2014, and I’ll never forget the support that always shook our stadium.”

The Kanagawa native has made three appearances in the top-flight this term, with his return to Sagan, who are looking to end a run of five games without a win, timely for coach Hitoshi Morishita.
