Ventforet Kofu, Matsumoto Yamaga and Shonan Bellmare made harder work of their opponents meanwhile, but eventually prevailed.

MEIJI YASUDA J2 League promotion candidates Jubilo Iwata suffered an unexpected 1-0 home defeat to Avispa Fukuoka, however.

FC Osaka, who scored an upset against Cerezo Osaka in the previous round, were also stopped here by Ehime FC, putting up a fight but eventually bowing out 3-2.
