Shonan Bellmare fight for survival in Sapporo

After 26 weeks in the Meiji Yasuda J1 League season, Shonan Bellmare are stuck at the bottom of the table fighting for survival. It’s been a rough year for the club, but they still have eight chances to make their way up to safety and that begins on Saturday at 7 pm JST against Hokkaido Consadole Sapporo in a match that will be streamed live on the J.League International YouTube channel.

Bellmare have scored at a respectable clip this season and will be counting on that attack to carry them to safety. Yuki Ohashi has been leading the way and he’s been in especially good form of late, scoring four goals in the last five matches with an assist to boot. They’ll need him to be at his best to help them get the better of Consa and creep closer to safety.

Of course, Consa will have no interest in aiding Bellmare’s climb. They want three points of their own and are coming off an emphatic 4-0 victory over Gamba Osaka, which snapped their winless streak. Their attack has led them all season and there is no reason to think that will change now, setting the stage for an exciting match in which both teams fly forward at every opportunity.

The J.League announced that up to four matches will be streamed live each week for the 2023 season, bringing one of Asia’s top league’s to fans around the world. The streams will be free to view on the J.League International YouTube channel in any country that does not have an existing rights agreement.
