Kashima Antlers on Wednesday announced the full transfer of Gaku Shibasaki to Spanish second division side Tenerife.
The 24-year-old, who joined Antlers in 2011 from Aomori Yamada High School, has scored 17 goals from 172 J1 League appearances.
In last year’s FIFA Club World Cup, he was awarded the Bronze Ball after scoring two goals - both in the final against Real Madrid - in four matches.
“It was an incredibly wonderful experience to win the J.League, J.League Cup, and the Emperor’s Cup with Kashima Antlers,” Shibasaki said.
“I’m proud to have fought alongside my team-mates, coaching staff and club officials. I would also like to thank our supporters from my heart.
“This is the start of an important challenge in my career and I am driven by my desire to stand on the pitch and play.
“I want to continue to meet these challenges and enjoy the game.”
