Sato seeking J2 League appearance milestone

Nagoya Grampus striker Hisato Sato could make his 100th J2 League appearance when they take on JEF United Chiba on Saturday.

Sato, who is a Sanfrecce Hiroshima legend and the second all-time top goalscorer in the J.League on 161 goals, opted to end his 12-year stint at Edion Stadium to join Nagoya.

The veteran has started in both of his new side’s games this term and will now seek his J2 League appearance milestone next as well as a chance to open his account there.

Yahiro Kazama’s men sit third following a win and a draw.

The following achievements could also be reached during the third round of the 2017 MEIJI YASUDA J2 League, which will take place on Saturday and Sunday.
