Sanfrecce Hiroshima continued their Club World Cup march with an excellent 3-0 win in the quarter-finals against TP Mazembe on Sunday.
After matching the blows of the African champions in Osaka, Hajime Moriyasu’s men took the lead through Tsukasa Shiotani a minute before half time, prodding in Sho Sasaki’s flick-on.
Sanfrecce kept composed even as Mazembe pushed for an equaliser, with the MEIJI YASUDA J1 League winners doubling their lead when Kazuhiko Chiba headed in a corner.
Takuma Asano added the cherry on the cake of a hugely impressive performance from his side with the third goal, as they progress to the semi-finals where a meeting with South American giants River Plate awaits.
