Sanfrecce Hiroshima defeated Avispa Fukuoka in a training match at Gannosu Recreation Center in Fukuoka last Sunday.
Midfielder Koji Morisaki scored both goals in the 2-0 win over the second-tier outfit, one day after Sanfrecce’s 8-0 win over Hiroshima Keizai University in round two of the Emperor’s Cup.
Hajime Moriyasu’s men are a single point off the peak of the MEIJI YASUDA J1 League second stage standings, and will continue their campaign at Montedio Yamagata on Saturday.
The 2013 Japanese champions will be hoping to take advantage of any slip-up from leaders Kashima Antlers, who host last term’s Treble winners Gamba Osaka on the same day.
Avispa, meanwhile, are currently in fifth place in the second division, and will resume their quest for promotion at Kamatamare Sanuki this Sunday.
