FC Tokyo on Thursday announced the signing of goalkeeper Akihiro Hayashi on a full transfer from Sagan Tosu.

The 29-year-old has served as Sagan’s first-choice goalkeeper since his mid-season arrival in 2013, and played in all 34 matches of this season’s MEIJI YASUDA J1 League.

“I want to improve the team’s defensive strength and inspire my teammates to achieve good results,” Hayashi commented.

“Individual performance, team performance, a spirit of sacrifice; these are things we can’t play without and that’s the sort of atmosphere I want to bring to the team so that we can all grow together.”
