Shimizu S-Pulse announced defender Dejan Jakovic has been called up to represent Canada’s national team in 2018 World Cup qualifying action.
The 29-year-old will join Les Rouges as they face Dominica in the second round of the CONCACAF region qualification stage on 12 and 17 June.
Jakovic previously played for Major League Soccer side DC United and joined S-Pulse in 2014, though he has been unable to prevent his team’s slide to 17th this term.
