Shimizu S-Pulse on Wednesday announced that the club has signed a ‘Pro A’ contract with striker Koya Kitagawa.
The 19-year-old broke into the first-team this season, making five appearances in the MEIJI YASUDA J1 League and Yamazaki Nabisco Cup apiece.
“I’m happy to have accomplished one of my goals since turning professional,” Kitagawa said in a club statement.
“But this is just another starting point for me, and now I want to work harder than ever to further my career.”
The teenager’s sole strike came in the relegated outfit’s 2-1 loss to Nagoya Grampus in Group B of the Nabisco Cup.
