Shimizu S-Pulse on Tuesday announced that defender Calvin Jong-a-pin is expected to miss four weeks after tearing his right hamstring.
The 29-year-old faces another lengthy spell out after sustaining the injury in his team’s 1-1 draw against FC Tokyo on August 29, when he had to be substituted in the 89th minute.
That game had been just Jong-a-pin’s eighth appearance for S-Pulse in an injury-hit campaign, with the former Netherlands youth international also ruled out for the entire first stage with injury.
The news will be a blow to the side, given they are still searching for their first victory under new manager Kazuaki Tasaka.
