Ryoma Watanabe has been awarded 2023 Meiji Yasuda Goal of the Year for his spectacular strike. It was an outstanding play that nobody who saw it will ever forget and now it has top goal honors for the year to ensure that it lives in the league history books.

The F.C.Tokyo man chested a ball down at a full sprint to begin things, fabulously contorted his body for a scissor kick and then capped it off by blistering a shot into the back of the net that left the goalkeeper no chance.

Watanabe’s goal came in just his second match back after a lengthy layoff and he made his return with a bang. On that day, he scored a goal for the ages that has been deemed worthy of the title of 2023 Goal of the Year.
