Reysol sign Brazilian Ederson as Leandro’s replacement

Kashiwa Reysol signing Ederson expressed his excitement for his new J.League adventure, after the club announced the striker’s arrival from Atletico Paranaense on Monday.

The 26-year-old was the Brazilian Serie A’s top scorer in 2013 with 20 goals in 36 games, and most recently played for the United Arab Emirates’ Al Wasl on loan.

“I’m blessed to have been able to come to Japan,” Emerson commented.

“I’ve heard good things about Reysol’s organisation, facilities, and enthusiastic supporters, which, combined with my good impression of Japan, helped me make this decision.

“I can play in a central position or on the flanks, and want to demonstrate my scoring abilities. I look forward to contributing to Reysol’s victories.”

The forward will boost the striking options available to Tatsuma Yoshida’s outfit and is effectively a direct replacement for Leandro, who departed for Vissel Kobe earlier in July.
