Reds veteran Suzuki announces retirement

Urawa Reds midfielder Keita Suzuki on Sunday announced that he will retire as a player at the conclusion of the 2015 season.

Suzuki has spent the entirety of his career at Urawa since 2000, contributing to their 2006 league and 2007 AFC Champions League triumphs.

The 34-year-old scored 10 goals in 379 J1 League matches, as well as 4 goals in 66 Yamazaki Nabisco Cup appearances.

The veteran will hope to hang up his boots with one final glory by clinching the league title with his side in the post-season championship finals.
