Reds striker Zlatan declines Slovenia call-up

Urawa Reds announced that Zlatan Ljubijankic had to pull out of Slovenia’s upcoming Euro 2016 qualifier against England on June 14 due to an injury.

The striker injured his leg in the club’s 3-3 draw at Kashiwa Reysol last Wednesday and could not participate in Sunday’s narrow win over Shimizu S-Pulse either.

Zlatan, who joined the MEIJI YASUDA J1 League leaders from Saitama rivals Omiya Ardija in the off-season, has made an immediate impact in the Reds’ rise this term.

The 31-year-old is his outfit’s joint second-highest goal-scorer this term, netting five in 11 appearances.
