Reds striker Rafael Silva joins China’s Wuhan

Urawa Reds on Saturday announced the transfer of striker Rafael Silva to Chinese League One side Wuhan Zall FC.

The Brazilian scored 12 goals in 25 J1 League appearances with the Saitama Stadium residents. He also recorded nine goals in 11 AFC Champions League matches, contributing significantly to the club’s second continental crown.

“I only spent a year with Urawa Reds, but I think I gave my best effort every day,” Silva said in a statement.

“I’m proud that I was able to contribute to the club’s history and I want to leave with my head held high.

“In addition to winning a title that meant so much to me, I grew so much as a man in this year. Nothing in my life will ever be able to replace my experiences or achievements here.”
