Urawa Reds manager Mihailo Petrovic has renewed his contract for the 2016 season, the club announced on Sunday.
The Serbian coach has led the Reds since 2012, taking the helm of the Saitama side after six seasons with Sanfrecce Hiroshima.
Already in his fourth season with the club this season, Petrovic has become the club’s longest-serving manager.
After leading them to runners’ up finishes in the league, Yamazaki Nabisco Cup and Fuji Xerox Super Cup, the 58-year-old tasted his first success in charge when they won the MEIJI YASUDA J1 League first stage in June.
His men will next hope to follow up their achievement by winning the league title proper when the post-season title championship rolls around.
