Reds, Frontale rout opponents

The seventh round of the MEIJI YASUSA J1 League Second stage saw clubs in fine attacking form, with those at the top of the table racking up huge victories.

Urawa Reds and Kawasaki Frontale scored four goals apiece in their respective wins; Yuki Muto netted a brace in the Reds’ 4-1 result over Shonan Bellmare.

Meanwhile, Yu Kobayashi scored in a seventh straight match for Frontale as they blanked Ventforet Kofu 4-0.

At Ajinomoto Stadium, South Korean striker Yu In-soo made his J1 League debut in style, scoring the winning goal in FC Tokyo’s 3-2 comeback over Jubilo Iwata after team-mate Muriqui recorded two equalisers.

Gamba Osaka were perhaps lucky to finish the evening with a 2-1 win over Sagan Tosu after Shun Nagasawa’s dramatic header in stoppage time.

Lastly, Vegalta Sendai earned a surprising 1-0 road win thanks to Hiroaki Okuno’s goal against struggling First Stage champions Kashima Antlers.
