Omiya Ardija on Saturday confirmed the arrival of striker Nejc Pecnik from JEF United Chiba.

The Slovenia international, who participated in the 2010 FIFA World Cup, recorded 14 goals in 39 appearances during the 2015 MEIJI YASUDA J2 League season.

Pecnik will now team up with second-tier champions Omiya in their return to the top-flight next season, and is looking forward to the experience.

“I’m excited about a new challenge in J1,” the 30-year-old commented. “Omiya Ardija are a great team and I’m looking forward to a fantastic season.
