Kawasaki Frontale on Sunday announced that midfielder Kengo Nakamura will continue to serve as the club’s captain for the 2016 MEIJI YASUDA J1 League season.
The 35-year-old has spent his entire career with the club, with over 500 total appearances to his name.
“In our important 20th anniversary season, I hope that my vice-captains and I can lead the team so that we can all unite in order to accomplish our goal (of winning the championship),” Nakamura said.
His vice-captains for the season are midfielder Shogo Taniguchi, striker Yu Kobayashi, and striker Yoshito Okubo.
