Sanfrecce Hiroshima manager Hajime Moriyasu praised his players following a 2-0 win at Buriram United in the 2016 AFC Champions League group stage.
The defending J.League champions have earned both of their wins in the tournament thus far against Buriram, with Tuesday’s victory coming thanks to second-half goals by Takumi Miyayoshi and Kosei Shibasaki.
“Despite the difficult conditions, the players prepared well and worked hard,” Moriyasu said after the match. “They had to deal with the hot weather but defended strongly and earned a good win.
“We experience a lot of different environments in the ACL, and the players are adapting and figuring out how to beat their opponents.
“But more than anything it’s about the effort they’re putting into training in order to deliver their best performance.”
Sanfrecce will continue their continental campaign on April 20 at Shandong Luneng.
