Kota Mizunuma wore the armband for first place Yokohama F·Marinos’ perfect June and added a pair of goals to capture KONAMI Monthly MVP honors.

June was a light month in the Meiji Yasuda J1 League due to the international break, but Mizunuma still carried a big load for Japan’s top team at the moment. He scored the winner in a 2-1 victory over Gamba Osaka on June 18, then bagged another goal the following week to lead the Tricolor to a dominant over a tough Kashiwa Reysol side.

Marinos are in the midst of a tremendous season, topping the table thanks to a powerful attack and consistent results. Mizunuma is playing a central role, contributing four goals and six assists so far this campaign.

In J2, Yokohama FC’s Koki Ogawa was named KONAMI Monthly MVP after scoring three goals in his side’s four June games to help lead them to an unbeaten June. Ogawa’s fine form has helped Yokohama to an automatic promotion place.

Iwaki FC’s Hiroto Iwabuchi took top honors in J3. He scored four goals and added two assists in a stellar four June games.
