Vegalta Sendai set up a Sendai-Miyagi Prefecture Tourism Promotion Booth at Ajinomoto Stadium on Wednesday night when FC Tokyo hosted the club.

Visitors to the booth received pamphlets promoting tourism in the northern prefecture of Miyagi and additionally stood the chance to win locally-produced items.

Such efforts are part of a movement to revive the appeal of visiting the region following the deadly earthquake and tsunami that struck in 2011, with Vegalta frequent ambassadors.

Tokyo eventually ended up winning Wednesday’s encounter 3-1, with Masato Morishige heading in a free-kick before Ryoichi Maeda recorded a brace.
