MEIJI YASUDA J1 100 YEAR VISION LEAGUE REGIONAL ROUND Match Week 11 Recap: Kashima continue phenomenal form, Kawasaki-F win Kanagawa Derby, C-Osaka stun Kyoto

All five REGIONAL ROUND Match Week 11 games played in the MEIJI YASUDA J1 100 YEAR VISION LEAGUE on Saturday were decided inside 90 minutes, with each of Kashima Antlers, Kawasaki Frontale, Cerezo Osaka, Sanfrecce Hiroshima, and Tokyo Verdy picking up three points from their fixtures.

Kashima claimed their ninth victory of the season with a 1-0 win over Urawa Reds at Mercari Stadium, extending their lead at the top of the East table to six points.

Kimito Nono struck the only goal of the game in the 81st minute, winning possession just outside the penalty area before firing a low drive into the bottom corner, in the process dealing Urawa a sixth straight defeat (including penalty shoot-outs).

Kawasaki-F were also celebrating, as they struck very late to beat Yokohama F・Marinos 2-1 in the Kanagawa Derby.

Lazar Romanic gave visitors Kawasaki-F the lead when he calmly converted from inside the area in the 15th minute at Nissan Stadium, and although Jun Amano equalised for Yokohama F・M with an instinctive finish in the third minute of first-half stoppage time, Erison sparked delirious scenes in the away end when he rifled in an unstoppable drive in the eighth minute of time added on at the end of the second half.

In the West, meanwhile, C-Osaka put in an accomplished performance to beat Kyoto Sanga F.C. 3-0 at YANMAR HANASAKA STADIUM.

Thiago Andrade opened the scoring with a crisp strike across goal in the 18th minute, before Shion Homma doubled C-Osaka’s lead when he rounded Kyoto goalkeeper Gakuji Ota and tucked into the net midway through the second half.

Solomon Sakuragawa wrapped up the win deep into stoppage time, making no mistake after Ota had parried Hayato Okuda’s shot to him at the back post in the 96th minute.

Hiroshima also won at home, with Akito Suzuki’s 10th-minute tap-in from close range and Mutsuki Kato’s unstoppable effort in the 52nd minute sealing a 2-0 triumph over V-Varen Nagasaki at EDION PEACE WING HIROSHIMA.

In the day’s other game at Ajinomoto Stadium, Shimon Teranuma’s solitary strike six minutes into the second half - tucking in a rebound from inside the six-yard box - was enough to ensure Tokyo-V edged JEF United Chiba 1-0.
