Yokohama F·Marinos’ quest to repeat as Meiji Yasuda J1 League champions takes them to Cerezo Osaka on Saturday at 4 pm JST in a match that will be streamed live on the J.League International YouTube channel.
The Tricolor started out the season on top of the table, but two matches without a win saw Vissel Kobe overtake them and put Marinos in pursuit. They responded well from those two win-less contests by toppling a strong Kashima Antlers side in the last matchday and now aim to get three more points in Osaka.
Cerezo thought they would be challenging with Marinos at the top of the table this season, but that has not happened as they have managed just one win from five matches. There have been signs of them turning it around lately and a win over the Tricolor could be a statement that they are ready to leap back among the best J1 has to offer.
The J.League announced that up to four matches will be streamed live each week for the 2023 season, bringing one of Asia’s top league’s to fans around the world. The streams will be free to view on the J.League International YouTube channel in any country that does not have an existing rights agreement.
