Yokohama F. Marinos on Friday confirmed their arrangement to sign Juntendo University defender Ikki Arai for the 2016 season.

The Chiba native was a member of this year’s National University Selection, and represented Japan with the Under-20 team at the 2013 East Asian Games.

“I want to devote myself to working hard in order to play for F.Marinos as soon as possible,” Arai commented through the club’s website.

Erick Mombaerts’ men are riding high on the back of four consecutive MEIJI YASUDA J1 League wins, cumulating in a 4-0 victory over Urawa Reds on Saturday.

The Nissan Stadium side are presently fifth in the second stage standings.
