The Japan international was directly involved in seven of his team’s nine goals, tying for first in the J1 with four goals and leading the league with three assists.
“It’s an honour to be named Monthly MVP and I’m proud to become the first Yokohama F. Marinos player to receive this award this season,” Saito said.
“I couldn’t have accomplished this with my strength alone and I want to thank my team-mates, coaches and all of our supporters.”
This marks the second time Saito has won the award after winning his first J1 Monthly MVP for August 2015.
