Urawa Reds staged a remarkable comeback on Wednesday night in a 3-2 win over FC Tokyo in the 2016 MEIJI YASUDA J1 League.
The visitors dominated in the first half, with Brazilian striker Muriqui scoring his first J1 goal and midfielder Kento Hashimoto doubling the lead in the 31st minute.
But the Reds came out of the locker room reinvigorated after halftime, drawing even through a brace from Tomoaki Makino and winning on Lee Tadanari’s close-range effort in the 78th minute.
The result ended the Reds’ winless streak at five matches, while FC Tokyo remain in 11th place heading into the final round of the First Stage.
