Leaders Vissel square off against historical giants Kashima

Vissel Kobe are the top team in the Meiji Yasuda J1 League this season, but no club has been as successful historically as Kashima Antlers. Now the current and all-time giants clash on Saturday at 4 pm JST in a match that will be streamed live on the J.League International YouTube channel.

The Ushi have built their lead with excellence on both ends. Their defense has conceded only two goals, best in the league, while their attack has scored 12 and proven themselves as one of the most dangerous in Japan led by a resurgent Yoshinori Muto. Now, they need full points from every game as they try to protect their lead atop the table.

Kashima have not lived up to the teams of years past thus far in 2023, sitting 14th in the table after taking just one point from their last four contests. Their attack has betrayed them, with just two goals over that stretch, but Yuma Suzuki, Kei Chinen, Shoma Doi and Ryotaro Araki give them plenty of dangerous attackers who could help them turn things around.

The J.League announced that up to four matches will be streamed live each week for the 2023 season, bringing one of Asia’s top league’s to fans around the world. The streams will be free to view on the J.League International YouTube channel in any country that does not have an existing rights agreement.
